What is the difference between the Vario W+ and the Vario+?
The Vario W+ has an integrated scale and grinds by weight. The Vario+, on the other hand, works based on time ( grind-by-time ).
Is the Vario W+ suitable for espresso?
It was primarily developed for filter coffee , but can also grind finely enough for espresso. For regular espresso use, we recommend the Vario+ or Forté AP.
Can I grind directly into the portafilter?
No – the Vario W+ grinds into the collection container. There's no portafilter holder, as the scale continuously weighs.
How precise is the scale?
The integrated Acaia technology measures to the gram, ensuring reproducible results – ideal for pour-over, Chemex, or batch brewers.
How many grinding levels does the Vario W+ have?
You can choose from over 220 grinding levels – from medium-fine for V60 to coarse for French Press.
